— Participating stores, secret locations, 10,000L$ photo contest —

When: April 1st – April 30th, 2011
Where: At 50 Mainstores around the grid

GLANCE International Agency (GIA), SL’s premier fashion marketing and public relations agency is proud to announce the launch of ”Front Row” event on Friday, April 1st at 12 PM SLT.

This grid-wide fashion event lasts throughout the month of April 2011 and presents 100 unreleased, exclusive creations with purchase proceeds entirely benefiting Relay For Life® in Second Life®. The fashionable tour will take the discerning and savvy shopper through a list of fifty (50) designers and creators of shapes, skins, hair, clothing, shoes, accessories, poses and animations. In other words, participating merchants offer all the elements that take the wearer to ”Front Row” status.

A dedicated website has been set up for all future updates. It presents who the charitable fifty (50) participating designers who donated their time and work for the cause are, provides the SLURLs to all participating stores and introduces the twenty-five (25) official bloggers who will present “Front Row” top looks during the next month.

Shopping “GLANCE Front Row” exclusives is easy: use the SLURLs to teleport to the participating designers’ mainstores. From there you will see the official RFL vendors offering the exclusive event merchandise. By purchasing an item through RFL vendors, the money will go within 30 seconds to the official avatar of Relay For Life. All money of “GLANCE Front Row” event is raised through the registered RFL team #40 “GLANCE Runway For Life.”

To keep the event enticing until the last day, just like in the final minutes of a fashion show, there are ten (10) ”secret” locations with participants that will only be revealed as the event draws down to the concluding ten days. The 20 remaining exclusive creations will be introduced along with a nice surprise!

Get your cameras ready!

The event presents a Flickr Group where you can showcase and share with fellow shoppers all your “Front Row” looks! This is also where the “GLANCE Front Row” photo contest entries will be accepted, with a cash prize set to 10,000L$ for the ultimate “Front Row” look. Find all details of the photo contest on:

About Relay For Life of Second Life:

Relay For Life® is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL) is an annual activity that takes place in Second Life® in July each year. Volunteers form or join teams to have fun while fundraising and raising awareness from mid-March through mid-July. In July teams build campsites and walk a track, just like in a real world Relay. The main RFL of SL track event this year will take place on July 16-17. We will walk a virtual track for 24 hours, just like in a real world Relay For Life. Team members build and gather at their team campsites, enjoy live music, participate in fun events, and explore the many Relay sims and the incredible builds by some of Second Life’s top designers, as the event runs overnight and into the next morning.

In 2010 Relay For Life of Second Life attracted more than 120 teams with participants from over 30 countries, held over 300 team fundraising events between March and July, and raised over US$222,000 (that’s REAL US dollars) for cancer research and education. The funds raised go to research, advocacy, patient services and programs, with 12-15% going to international projects. Just as in the real world, RFL of SL is an international event.
