GFR11 | Meet the designers – Maeve Mortlock, creator of Ear Candy
When did you join SL and why?
I joined about 3 and a half years ago.
How did you get into content creation for SL residents?
While watching my husband who joined first and started to create. I helped him with textures and colors (not his strong suit, haha!) then went off on my own. I made furniture first then I discovered jewelry.
How would you describe your shop?
I try to make jewelry I’d wear. Some of it is a little too fancy for me but then again I don’t go shopping in ball gowns either!
Front Row is an event supporting Relay For Life® of SL. Why does it matter for you to participate?
I like to help charities I believe in and when I’m sure the donations will be passed on properly. RFL is one of those. Plus I think we’ve all been touched by cancer in our families – I know I have. Hopefully those donations will impact someone’s life.
What would you like to say to those who are discovering you through this interview?
I was happy to be asked to join GLANCE Front Row and I hope you’ll poke around my shop and smile.
Is it hard to keep track of all those tiny prims?
Yes, it definitely is. I’m sure I have close to a hundred lost prims floating around my building platform just waiting to be discovered… and crying.
