When did you join SL and why?
I joined SL on 14/03/2010. I am a professional photographer in real life but before this education, I graduated from the stage design department in Faculty of Fine Arts. I have a lot of information about costume and designing. I think designing clothing is very fun so I love Second Life® for that. I thought that it would be very enjoyable to do this job in here and it was so! This was my reason to start SL… To work on design.

How did you get into content creation for SL residents?
I have been following SL offline. During that time, I have started to create clothes in a different virtual world but the other world doesnt have any visiuality and realistic features in it. So after that I decided to join SL. Briefly, this is why I joined SL, to do this job.

How would you describe your shop?
Gizza opened its doors on April 2010. We are still new to the fashion world. There are still many obstacles to overcome. We are making our way in the fashion world. I am a designer who is always creating new things. At some point we will need to enlarge the place we have now. We started with just a few stores and are now on our own sim. If you ask about our style, I say “Art is art.” I create from my taste and ideas. I have always gotten very positive responses to my designs. If I start getting adverse reactions, I will then ask myself if I am going down the wrong road. But I think I am going the right way. I think I expect more from myself. We are always in competition with ourselves. I feel it is very important for me to excel at what I do. Gizza’s style is always evolving. I will always add new things to my style and I will never lose my design force. So I will continue to provide new clothes for  all Gizza costumers but I want to say that Gizza is still fairly new to the fashion world. We are still making our way in this industry. We still need to learn some more in the technical detail in the fashion world. I want us to grow as a company.

Front Row is an event supporting Relay For Life® of SL. Why does it matter for you to participate?
Gizza wants to make a small contribution for cancer patients. This is an honor for Gizza… At Gizza, we share the same desire to support Relay For Life® of SL and stand in support of the Front Row efforts.

What would you like to say to those who are discovering you through this interview?
I don’t have limits for my designs. I am creating so all Gizza customers wear my designs in any place.. I sometimes design magnificient dresses, sometimes more secret yet still attractive garments… I think Gizza Creations costumers appreciate my designs because they can wear them during day time or in the evening but I can say that I think most of the time of the day elegance…

What about art design? What does that entail exactly?
To be a designer, you need to have creativity, a different approach to fashion design, have an eye for color and to develop a creative vision. These are the most important following the technical part, of course. If you don’t know how to use some of the softwares related to your design work (for example: Photoshop and others), you don’t have enough knowledge to do this job. But this is certainly not only about the software knowledge. It is actually also important to explore and expand your horizons. This is the second step. If you don’t renew yourself and are not being open-minded, you will only appear to be a standard designer. You cannot excel as an original creator, if your designs look like other designers’ products. That’s why the originality of the design is the most important!

About Relay For Life® of Second Life®:

Relay For Life® is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL) is an annual activity that takes place in Second Life® in July each year. Volunteers form or join teams to have fun while fundraising and raising awareness from mid-March through mid-July. In July teams build campsites and walk a track, just like in a real world Relay. The main RFL of SL track event this year will take place on July 16-17. We will walk a virtual track for 24 hours, just like in a real world Relay For Life. Team members build and gather at their team campsites, enjoy live music, participate in fun events, and explore the many Relay sims and the incredible builds by some of Second Life’s top designers, as the event runs overnight and into the next morning.

In 2010 Relay For Life of Second Life attracted more than 120 teams with participants from over 30 countries, held over 300 team fundraising events between March and July, and raised over US$222,000 (that’s REAL US dollars) for cancer research and education. The funds raised go to research, advocacy, patient services and programs, with 12-15% going to international projects. Just as in the real world, RFL of SL is an international event.
